The CannabisOS price index reads the public menus of the shops in the network and publishes one number per country and product class every week, with the like for like change behind it.
Every price seen on a public menu that week, converted to euro per gram. Values under €0.50 or over €60 per gram are dropped as reading errors. The level is the median across shops, with the middle half (25th to 75th percentile) drawn as the band. It moves when the shops change and when the set of shops we read changes.
The change compares each product with its own previous observation (up to five weeks back) and averages those changes, so a new shop joining the crawl does not move it. The index chains those weekly changes from 100 at the first week. A cell needs at least 20 prices from 5 shops (5 prices from 3 shops for a single cultivar) and 10 compared products before a change is shown.
The current board is at /index.json, refreshed every 15 minutes, recomputed nightly from the full observation history (9,124 prices in the latest week). Shops see their own position against it in the CannabisOS dashboard; shoppers see it on every cultivar page of WeedYouLike.
